Different heat effects, like the exhaust vents on its backside are glowing dimly in orange and red. For the basing I went with a black/dark rock slab look with carved in runes that glows in a blue-green-yellow color blend, which also lights up the bottom-facing parts of the dreadnought according to that osl. The rest of the base is decorated with gnarled branches, crystal shaped rocks, tufts, an agave plant, a skull and a snake in hiding. The photography was done in front of black fabric background and has a very low opacity CryoCheese icon in the bottom left corner. The miniature is produced and sold by Games Workshop, formerly by ForgeWorld.

Some basing WIPS for my KoW! I always do corkboard, but mix some texture pastes for the dirt. I painted the base with craft paints, then built up the snow! Took a while to find a mixture I liked but I think the effect is good!

Got this Xanthos for xmas and while I love quads, their #basing is always a PITA. I printed out a texture plate to mimic my #deathcommandos ones and cut/files it to fit. It works, but I want the crystals bigger, so v2 is printing.

Pushing myself to do better with bases, starting with painting rocks.
I'm struggling more with this than you might think. Ideally it'd look proper realistic, but for now I'm content with this result 😄

Work in progressshot of four battlefront stands of British infantry. The bases have two levels on them. One of the Road and one of the pavement with some lamp posts on them showing the infantry crossing the roads
Proof of concept for basing these Berlin Brigade infantry. Roadside kerbs with infantry crossing them. I’ve got some bins and other street detritus on the way to make the bases pop as well. I reckon this could work!
