Becky Starke hired Mike Flint to take her to an abandoned city on a diamond asteroid. Since her father has left to find the place, he hasn't made contact anymore, and she needs to locate him. Mike takes the job but doesn't intend to take Becky along, but she's determined to go along. Then, Mike takes Becky to his rocket, where she'll meet his partner, Sam Smith. Becky is in shock to notice that Sam is, actually, a green being, half-human, half-snake.

In 2191, technological advances allow humans to inhabit asteroids. On one of them, Brooklin Rock, space engineer Mike Flint lives with his mother. One morning, Beck Starke shows up at his door wanting to hire Mike for a trip to the meteor belt to find an abandoned city on a diamond asteroid. If the story is true, Mike and his mother will be able to live on Earth again.
Beyond Mars was a science fiction comic strip written by Jack Williamson and drawn by Lee Elias. It debuted in New York's Daily News on February 17, 1952.
