A view down into a river valley from behind a small fence and some young pine trees. The land by the stream is flat and green and holds large broadleaf trees. Further trees, a mix of conifers and broadleafs, grow up the lower slopes of a steep hill on the left of the picture, before petering out as rocky outcrops and heather dominate. Gentle hills rise up to the right of the picture, some with forestry patches

A view over a broad valley of yellow grass and young saplings. in the foreground, the ground is boggy and crossed with a fence; the mid-distance holds some young broadleaf planting. Hills rise up in the distance to Hedgehope on the horizon

A view down a narrow valley from high up. The grass is yellowy and tussocky; a reddish dirt track leads away on the right hand side of the picture, travelling down the valley which has patches of brown heather and at the bottom, steep banks to a burn. The track leads in the far distance to a cottage (Low Bleakhope) surrounded by conifer trees. Above it further hills rise to the blue sky

A view down over yellowy moorland grass under a blue sky. The view leads down to a small stone cottage. The path of the river snaking through the valley can be traced by the trees growing alongside it. Behind it, brown-yellow hills rise up.

Alnham to Low Bleakhope, then back down the Breamish and back to Alnham over the moor

Walk by the River #Breamish today. Very few birds despite the sunshine, Buzzard, Kestrel, Heron. Mid walk lunch of a slab of Christmas cake with #Wensleydale followed by chocolate truffles & a flask of tea. Someone's got to eat the leftovers.
