At first glance, my lazy North American brain thought this might be a chafer, a significant agricultural pest, but the shape, shell lustre, and head colour of this little buddy let me know that this golden-brown spotted critter has its own place in the local ecosystem.

Say hello to my little #BugFriend: Cyclocephala lunulata!

Apparently more useful than harmful to local agriculture in its larval phase, though we still have so much to learn about so many critters on this 'ere globe.

Such a bright blue sheen on the head and forelegs of this black moth with red wingspots. Will look it up properly later!

New #BugFriend just dropped!

So shiny, and spectacularly blue in flight.

But skittish about letting less shiny critters get close.
