Thoughtful - and powerful piece from @alcoates.bsky.social . Al’s personal experience as a social worker himself in the middle of this should be acknowledged too. When Al - and others - write like this - it is with frustration that the response could be so much better #CPVA #CCVAB

Northumberland mother 'begged for help' with her son's violence A Northumberland mother says support is needed for parents abused by children with additional needs.

In Northumberland we had the domestic homicide review of 'Sarah'. I sat in a meeting within months of that and the social care team looking to help us were oblivious to it. There can't be enough publicity around this issue that families face.

Bearing witness and truly listening to the lived experience and challenges that parents and carers caring for children who have experienced adversity and whose behaviour can be violent or aggressive is the first and most important step in helping.
