Not as fun as scientific review (too late for that) but very rewarding!

#CIHR folks, I've had 2 Co-A applns recently on which I entered my CCV/MSC/consent & saved, but it didn't seem to "stick." Luckily the NPAs were on top of things both times & reached out. On 1 I had to save & reload 4 times to make the CCV# stick. Is something up w #ResearchNet or is this me?

Big congratulations to our community’s CIHR Fall 2025 Grant recipients! 🎉

So #CIHR is considering going to annual project grant competitions. The idea is to increase success rate and reduce grantee/reviewer burden. Neither will be accomplished. Without more funding, this wil result in either more grants streamlined or increased reviewer burden, solving nothing.

Really sorry to hear that reviewers are abusing people with diseases. Hiding behind a screen does not take courage. It is cowardice. Bully tactics.
Sad commentary on the quality of reviewers. In person review panels hold reviewers accountable.

Reviewer#3, when applicant details life threatening disease(s) as reason 4 delayed productivity, you don't have 2 point out "concern 4 lack of productivity, though applicant has had health concerns".

Seriously, must be a “go to” comment. I received a similar comment from 1 reviewer even though the other 2 praised my expertise and accomplishments. Getting a #cihr grant is like chasing a whack-a-mole

Dear reviewer, I AM the expert!
This is the most unhelpful comment from my #cihr grant. I guess all my training in vascular biology since undergrad (+MSc, PhD, 2.5yrs postdoc, 13 years running a lab in vascular research) and several publications on the topic not relevant?!?!
Bring back f2f reviews!
