I'll never forget the day I heard the news.

As awesome as he was, we all know there was something special that had only started to bloom.

Twilight People #1-2 (Caliber). While I greatly enjoyed Mark Ricketts' "Warpwalking" from Caliber, this series pales in comparison (I guess evidenced by it being cut short after only 2 issues). Regardless, the line on the back of #2 goes hard. #caliberpress #markricketts #comicsky #calibercomics

Negative Burn #50 (Caliber Comics). The last issue published by Caliber. Some excellent stories in here, including a Boneshaker by @philhester.bsky.social - "The Fix" - that was totally new to me! #calibercomics #caliberpress #comicsky #negativeburn #philhester

Baker Street "Honour Among Punks" TPB, which covers issues #1-5 (Caliber Press). This was fantastic. The story itself is pretty basic, but it is wholly elevated by the setting and characters. Its rendering is messy, chaotic, and perfect. Highly recommended. #caliberpress #calibercomics #comicsky

Varcel's Vixens #3 (Caliber Press). Overall this was a fun series. Inoffensive and pretty tame, but still fun. #caliberpress #calibercomics #comicsky

Construct #4, #5, and #6 (Caliber Comics), closing out the series. An excellent sci-fi story about a truly post-human world with prescient themes about society, life, tribalism, and humanity. One of my favorite reads this year. #calibercomics #comicsky #pauljenkins #leoduranona

Construct #3 (Caliber Comics). The human is revealed! I think. I'll never get tired of seeing robots wearing cloaks. #calibercomics #comicsky #caliberpress

Construct #2 (Caliber Comics). Another excellent issue. Goddamn I'm loving this. All sorts of cryptic loaded dialogue and mythmaking, espoused by robot "constructs" that are "the voice of the creator," which is referred to as "the human." Very intriguing. #calibercomics #comicsky

Construct #1 (Caliber Comics). This was supremely cool and enthralling with awesome world building and lore. Admittedly sometimes hard to understand the staging of certain panels (because all of the characters are robots), but it didn't affect the storytelling much. #calibercomics #comicsky

Silencers #3 and #4, closing out the series (Caliber Comics). I really had a hard time following this as none of the characters were visually (or characteristically) distinct from one another due to the art style. There were some cool sequences, but not enough to save it. #calibercomics #comicsky

Saint Germaine #8 (Caliber Comics). This was essentially a side story that added a bit of color to Germaine and Lilith's backstory, but not the most engaging. Bummer there are only two one shots left and that's it for this series. The first 4-issue arc was the best. #calibercomics #comicsky

Silencers #2 (Caliber Comics). While still not fun to look at (sorry R. G. Taylor), I do appreciate the unfolding story. #calibercomics #comicsky

Saint Germaine #7 (Caliber Comics). Unfortunately I'm missing #6. Another excellent issue continuing the Kilroy crossover story. But the real highlight is the Kilroy backup story in this issue. The art is superb. Pencils by Ed Herrera. Inks by Mike Perkins. #calibercomics #comicsky

Silencers #1 (Caliber Comics). This cover is so fucking 90s - I love it. The interiors are really, really ugly, though, to the point where it's difficult to tell characters apart. It's helpful when they call each other by name, but there's also like 10 characters introduced. #calibercomics #comicsky

Saint Germaine #3, #4, and #5 (Caliber Comics). These covers are god awful, but the story is still fantastic. I love that Kilroy is this like interloper throughout the Caliber universe. While #5 didn't add much to the plot, I always love Kilroy's overdramatic narration. #calibercomics #comicsky

Saint Germaine #2 (Caliber Comics). Really enjoying this series so far. This whole bit with the shadows interacting separate from theirbphysical bodies is really cool. This sequence reminded me of this stupid meme. #calibercomics #comicsky

Saint Germaine #1 (Caliber Comics). Been collecting issues of this for awhile now and decided to jump in. It's excellent! Exactly the type of cliche 90s pretentious shit that I expect from Caliber. This sounds sarcastic and backhanded, but I'm serious and I love it. #calibercomics #comicsky

Fun fact: A few years ago I blindly bought a TPB of the original Black Mist at this very store, which sent me down the Caliber Comics rabbit hole. To find the single issues at the same store was a truly full circle moment. Collecting comics rules. #calibercomics

Today's tattoo: PROGENY. This is one of the books that made me fall in love with Caliber Comics and the early work of J. Calafiore. An excellent book with horrifying artwork. So stoked with how SinaTattooer (York, UK) rendered this. @jcalafiore.bsky.social #calibercomics #comicsky #tattoosky

Today's read: finishing Exit: Under the Sun TPB (Caliber Comics). Nabiel Kanan is one of my favorite comics writers/illustrators. Both Exit series are absolutely excellent. Not easy to find, but very worthwhile if you do. #calibercomics #nabielkanan

Today's read: Exit: Under the Sun TPB, Chapters 1 and 2 (Caliber Comics). Didn't even realize until a few months ago that there was another Exit series and that it preceded the first one I read. Fantastic so far. Wild (or not so wild...) that this panel is from the 90s. #calibercomics #nabielkanan

Tonight's read: Raven Chronicles #1 from the Myths and Methods TPB (Caliber Comics). I liked it! This splash page with the first spontaneous combustion encountered is glorious. Interestingly, it credits Eric Jackson as the writer, but the opening page says Gary Reed. #calibercomics #comicsky

This morning's read: Raven Chronicles, Myths and Methods TPB (Caliber Comics). As much as I'm enjoying the other titles I've been reading, I'm happy to get back to clearing out my list of Caliber books. Just getting started with this one and it's intriguing. #calibercomics #ravenchronicles

Tonight's read: Lemon Custard #1 (Caliber Comics). The cover art for this is really great, but in retrospect I assume that all of the interiors were drawn in color and then just grayscaled. Other than this cover the art is ugly and just bad. It's also all digital which sucks. #calibercomics
