Statement on New York’s
One House Budget Proposal We are deeply disturbed that neither the Senator nor Assembly included basic transparency requirements for New York's $11 billion contract with PPL. Handing private equity control over healthcare is questionable enough; doing so with zero oversight or accountability is reckless.
At least 240,000 home care workers and consumers have fled CDPAP since PPL’s takeover. The private equity-backed company has been accused of ‘egregious fiscal and operational failures’ in six other states where they previously operated. Basic public reporting requirements are not just reasonable, they’re necessary for the hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers who rely on CDPAP.
We strongly urge NYS leadership to include these transparency measures in the final state budget.
Call State Legislative Leadership for the Home Care Transparency Act!
Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins: (518) 455-2585
Assembly Speaker Heastie: (518) 455-3791 Hi, my name is ___. I’m a New Yorker and [share relationship to CDPAP, if any]. I am calling to express my deep disappointment not to see the Home Care Transparency Act in the One House budget proposal.

Especially as we face federal cuts to Medicaid, New Yorkers are counting on you to ensure we are spending our taxpayer dollars on care, not private equity profit. I strongly urge [NAME OF LEGISLATOR] to include these transparency measures (S9142/A10537) in the final state budget.
Statement and ACTION on legislature's egregious omission from state budget (CALL LEADERSHIP NOW TO PASS THE HOME CARE TRANSPARENCY ACT!)
