I found Alice Lowe's #Prevenge to be a fun, well directed slice of horror. However, I am not sure that it has the emotional depth to become a really memorable horror film over the long term. #CatchUp2017 #Film2017

Bertrand Bonello's #Nocturama was a case of style (sometimes admittedly, an arresting and evocative use of style) over substance for me. Tedium seeped into its lengthy running time on more than one occasion. #CatchUp2017 #Film2017

Dee Rees’ #Mudbound is a ripe, superbly crafted period film. The narrative does hit some familiar notes and a few of the characterisations can lack a little subtlety. Yet on the whole, it is a powerful work. I am excited to see what Rees works on next. #CatchUp2017 #Film2017

It was a documentary double last night, Yance Ford's #StrongIsland and Raoul Peck's #IAmNotYourNegro. Both fantastic examples of the craft, seek them out if you can. #CatchUp2017 #Film2017
