A comic page. The first panel depicting two people on a ship, looking over it's edge "what- what happened here?" "a failed hunt, looks like".
The second panel shows a destroyed ship floating on the surface, along with a dead leviathan tangled in ropes. "the ship is torn apart at the sides, levi is still tangled in the harpoon lines. it probably thrashed against the ship and she couldnt take it".
The next panel shows a tricorn hat floating with no wearer. "And neither could the crew." "That's... really horrible."
The last panel shows the older character turn towards the younger one. "Weren't you training with Brahm? She must have told you about this, no?"
A comic page. The first panel depicts the younger character shyly recounting something. The backdrop behind her is a stylized mural showcasing a leviathan hunted by a sunlit hunter, while many harpoons rain down on the beast. "This... this isnt what Brahm said it was like at all. She always told me about grand tales and glory and heroes. It was never like-"
The next panel depicts the same scene, but realistic. A massive leviathan can be seen attacking a vessel, and three merfolk wielding harpoons towards it. The older character has interrupted the younger one to say "Being a hunter isn't being a hero. It's just a job. Most people don't get into leviathan hunting for the glory, and for those that do, that glory often means death."
The next panel shows the older character looking angrily at the off screen wreck "You must harden your heart to it". The next panel shows his expression changed to a sadder one as he realizes the younger character is crying.
In the last panel he says "come on, let's go inside" as he protectively wraps his tail around her.
Glory means Death.
A more somber look at the reality of Leviathan hunting, from someone who is numb to the tragedy, to someone who's only ever heard grand stories.
