All were charged w/ plotting to overthrow the US gov by force. #ChristianFront creator & rabid anti-Semite, Fr Coughlin, recruited, deputized & personally met w/ the leaders of CF groups in big cities including John Cassidy, the leader of the New York chapter, who was among those arrested.

The same group was manufacturing bombs in quantity & stockpiling them. In Jan of 1940, 17 members of the #ChristianFront in New York were arrested. The majority of them were either actively serving in the NY National Guard or they’d served in other branches of the military.
