Lilbits: GIMP 3.0 released, Microsoft accidentally deletes Copilot from Windows PCs, and Firefox paves the way for Progress Web apps (finally) GIMP is a free and open source image editing population that's been around for more than two decades. And it's spent most of that time on version 2 dot something or other. But after seven years of active development toward the next version, GIMP 3.0 is finally here. The update brings better support for displays with high pixel density, tablet input improvements, native Wayland support on Linux-based operating systems, and support for non-destructive filters, just to name a few of the biggest changes.

Lilbits: Microsoft keeps adding AI to Notepad, a fix for broken Chromecasts, and Android 16 Beta 3 Microsoft Notepad has been around for decades, offering a simple tool for viewing and editing text-based documents on Windows computers. But last year Microsoft started to adding features like a spell checker (useful), and an AI-powered Rewrite utility that lets you lengthen, shorten, or adjust the tone of text (ugh). Now Microsoft is rolling out more AI features to members of the Windows Insider preview program.

It's OK for now as I can cast my Spotify to the more recent Chromecast on the TV. No it's not the same speakers 😕

Lilbits: Google Pixel 10 could be a triple-camera phone The folks at Android Headlines have published a series of articles showing the anticipated design of the upcoming Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL. For the most part the Pro phones look nearly identical to their Pixel 9 counterparts. Interestingly two of my #Chromecast #ChromecastAudio devices are still working for local media -- I can cast to them from VLC on the iPhone, using music that's actually stored on the phone, for example. But none of them work for internet streams.
