Construction is anticipated to commence shortly, with the projects expected to be operational around 2025. The funding package includes $175 million in construction financing secured from a group of banks, $50 million in tax equity investment from an unnamed investor, and $25 million in equity funding. The battery storage facilities will leverage innovative inverter technology from Sungrow, a key technology partner for Spearmint Energy. The Mortenson Corporation has been selected as the construction firm for the projects. “These projects will be instrumental in supporting Texas’s ambitious clean energy goals by providing dispatchable power and enhancing grid stability,” stated Tyler Przybylski, CEO of Spearmint Energy.
