Thank you, 🙏🏼 Reps. Garamendi and Simon, for speaking up for the rights of energy workers.
20 MOC’s who signed a letter condemning the Trump Administration’s actions. Read on:
➡️➡️➡️
Many of Trump’s
executive actions risk energy workers’ lives and livelihoods. Because energy jobs are hazardous, workers deserve strong safeguards.
Trump’s executive actions undermine these safeguards by trying to: ➡️➡️➡️
Defund NIOSH, which develops new health and safety standards.
Curtail OSHA’s enforcement capability in high-risk industries.
End black lung services for coal miners.
Attempt to dissolve the Chemical Safety Board, which investigates major industrial accidents.
Use “national security” to bypass Clean Air Act standards at refineries and coal plants.
Defund EPA environmental justice programs and cutting agency staff.
Render the the National Labor Relations Board inoperable.
These actions are indefensible, as they slow the growth of clean energy infrastructure, make energy jobs more dangerous and our communities less livable.
Thank you for speaking up for the rights of energy workers and supporting climate justice in our communities.
