In this illustration, Bubb et al. highlight a lightning bolt striking rare hematopoietic and leukemic stem cells. The lightning bolt represents the extracellularly linked concatemeric trivalent cytokine, or ELECTRIC, approach, in which the apex of healthy and malignant hematopoiesis is eliminated with a targeted non-genotoxic cell therapy to enable hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The lightning bolt is composed of various in silico models of the ELECTRIC protein binding KIT, MPL, or FLT3 and the ELECTRIC bispecific T cell engager (BITE). Image credit: Gerardo Sotillo.
