Okemos board accepts major private donation to fund baseball turf, freeing bond dollars for other projects The Okemos Board of Education voted 7–0 to accept a multi‑installment donation from the Politis family to cover the boys varsity baseball turf portion of Bid Pack 5; administrators said the gift covers baseball turf cost (about $1.5 million estimate) and would free roughly $750,000 in bond funds for other district projects if the DD estimates and bids align.

The Okemos Board of Education has unanimously accepted a generous donation from the Politis family that will pave the way for a new turf baseball field, unlocking significant funds for other district projects!
