This is a page from a Spring 2000 Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) newsletter showing the goal of people forming learning circles in every industry with a goal of using the ideas and resources I share to build and sustain long-term, mentor-rich programs, that help kids in high poverty areas move from birth to work.

In this Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC article on Medium I include this concept map, which is a blueprint for helping kids in high poverty areas move through school and into jobs. The text is a "speech" that any CEO could deliver.

This is the MappingforJustice blog hosted by Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present). In the feature article I focus on using concept maps to understand systems. The graphic is a view of a Child Care Systems map, created using Kumu.io. The left side shows a mentoring-kids-to-careers graphic that visualizes the need for long-term support. The right visualizes many issues that need to be addressed in many places, in on-going efforts.

This is a KUMU based concept map showing education and scholarship resources around the world that helps connect Harvard students with refugee summer internship opportunities. Others can use it for similar goals.

This is a concept map created by the Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present). At the left is a "mentoring kids to careers" graphic that shows different types of support kids need at each age level, and emphasizing that support needs to be continuous from birth-to-work. At the right are many of the challenges that all kids face, but that kids in poverty areas have fewer resources to deal with.

This concept map shows a 30 year history of using GIS Maps to draw volunteer, ideas and donors to youth serving programs in high poverty areas of Chicago. This work was started by Tutor/Mentor Connection ( 1993-present) and has been continued by Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC since 2011.

While the Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present) web library has more than 2000 links, blog articles have also been used to aggregate links on specific topics. This concept map points to several of those articles. In the graphic a red circle highlights one article, showing how updates have been added after the article was originally published.

In this #ConceptMap I point to #tutor #mentor blog articles that serve as "mini libraries". I circled an example of the map, showing links added at the bottom of a Climate Crisis article. I posted this at tutormentor.blogspot.com/2025/02/blog...

This is a Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present) concept map that shows blog articles that have been used as 'mini-libraries' over the past several years. The topics included are climate change, income inequality, segregation, gun laws, opioid crisis, digital divide, poverty, etc.

The heading of this Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC concept map is "Mapping Data to show INDICATORS of need. Point to these sites from your website." Across the bottom are links to many platforms that show education, poverty, inequality and opportunity data along with links to show how maps were used in Tutor/Mentor Connection (1993-present) and Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC (2011-present) blog articles.

This is a Tutor/Mentor Institute, LLC concept map showing organizations in Chicago who act as intermediaries to support groups of youth serving organizations. Each node as a link to the organization's website. The bottom half of the map is aspirational. I don't know of anyone hosting lists of businesses, faith groups, foundations, supporting youth tutor/mentor programs.
