Yeah I probably wouldn't watch it for Jeon Do-yeon, her character was a blackhole here. Everyone around her was great though.
Hell, I'd put her work in #CrashCourseInRomance on top of this if she's the reason for the #kdrama. Albeit that one having a serial killer twist that I usually dislike.

I agree. I felt the serial killer subplot was totally unnecessary in the two Kdramas you've highlighted. It really spoilt my watching experience of #CrashCourseinRomance (plus how the autistic brother was treated - that was cruel). It all becomes too busy for the original storyline to carry.

I remember when I watched #CrashCourseinRomance that the serial killer element created an interesting tension for a couple of episodes - but I thought they would resolve it quickly & concentrate on the more human aspects of the drama. I wasn’t expecting it to completely take over the drama!

I’m totally *not* a fan of serial killer subplots in dramas that aren’t explicitly crime/psychological thrillers - but I took the challenge to mean dramas in which the trope arbitrarily (& unnecessarily) appears - eg, #LovelyRunner & #CrashCourseinRomance - rather than about thriller genre dramas

I used to really enjoy Scandinavian thrillers like #TheBridge & #TheKilling - there are some superb shows.
So I’m totally on board with serial killers in their correct environment 😅 (ie, crime & detective thrillers, etc), but not in romantic dramas like #LovelyRunner or #CrashCourseinRomance
