#Wizard from #HeroQuest board game. Wanted to try #slapchop. Did a black prime, zenithal of white ink, then used #Createx transparent paints. Only took about 2 hours. Great job for 2 hours, but I’m not impressed overall. Investing 2-3x more time leads to a result I’m happier with. #miniaturepainting

A toy army soldier that was primed in black and then airbrushed from above with white…known as a zenithal highlight. A single coat of the Createx transparent paint was applied, one leg green, another orange, and a purple arm. Front view.

Here’s what it looks like in a zenithal that was quickly done…black primed, white ink airbrushed from above, a single coat of the #Createx applied with a paintbrush. I’m looking forward to playing with different undercoat colors like purples and complimentary colors to the base color.

A toy army soldier painted silver with stripes of red to test opacity and other stuff.

A palette of fidget poppers filled with silver and silver mixed with oranges and reds.

Perhaps super boring, but when unsure which metallics and which paints to mix, test it out. The two silvers are #Molotow silver and #Vallejo silver. The paints are mostly #Golden #SoFlat Payne’s grey and Pyrrole red, #Createx transparent brite red, #DalerRowney flame red #ink, and Vallejo red ink.
