The SHORTER Trial is a randomised controlled trial of SHORT duration antibiotic thERapy for critically ill patients with sepsis.
One of our lovely patients has today consented to be part of this trial ❤️. This will help us to understand future antibiotic needs.

Just recruited our 5th great patient to the RESULTHip Trial for March!! 🥳🎉
That's 5️⃣ patients who will receive either restrictive or liberal blood transfusion to determine the optimum blood count for better future patient outcomes after hip fracture surgery.

Severely ill patients in ICU/HDU (eg. heart attack/kidney failure) can have damaged blood cells that can cause organ failure.
The LicuiD study looks at DNA/RNA from blood samples (liquid biopsy) that will help us understand the disease and may lead to better future treatments.

We offer the SINFONIA trial to our ICU patients who have general anaesthesia
The aim is to compare two drugs that are given at the end of surgery to improve patient outcomes

The March Trial - for patients with acute respiratory failure whilst on a ventilator. To determine which or both mucoactives prescribed will help to reduce the time spent on ventilator.
Recruiting since March 2022 and only 59 patients to go to end the study and get results!
