Virgin Traihs disclosed firm intent to operate #CrossChannelRail services 2 years ago.
EIS from December 2030, if
. rolling-stock is secured (same as Illisto)
. agreement is made with Eurostar as to use of spare capacity at depot.

Again, 7 years isn't a short timeframe.

The upside: I am going to be able to fill in a crucial gap in my #CrossChannelRail knowledge, add three more former tram border lines and one former heavy rail line to my #CrossBorderRail list, and visit an old friend I have not seen in ages. So there are upsides to this Interrail addiction 😄

GBR will remain at distance from #CrossChannelRail, at least for a while.

Southeastern and Eurostar began to offer through tickets and fares upon HS1 completion.

But these are now gone AFAIK.

If Ashford reopens, pressure to do so at Calais-Fréthun will sharply rise.

And yes, decent frequency on Calais F - Ashford I should be a priority in #CrossChannelRail.

The harbours of Folkestone, Ramsgate, Margate, Boulogne sur Mer and Ostend lost ALL their 🚢⛴️ services.

Pre-HS1 completion, quite a few people were using Ashford I in #CrossChannelRail traffic.

This stop even led to the creation of a 🇫🇷 business park nearby.

Ebbsfleet or Ashford? It has to be one or the other, not both, and it needs to be Ashford Discussion about re-opening Kent stations on HS1 between London and the Channel Tunnel is getting more interesting. The Bring Back Euro Trains campaign has been gathering public support to re-open the...
