Another week down, another row completed! I'm not 100% sure on the cut here but my best guess is something close to a trillion cut due to the shape. Hard to tell when the stone is very white/grey.

Another garnet-type, huh? I like how it's turned out, even if it looks more like an orb than a gem cut. Hard to define those cut edges when the stone's colors seep past those edges anyway

A fun geode type. Amethyst holds a special place for me, because it was my biggest one out of all the rocks and minerals I collected when I was young. Could have been fun to do a life drawing! ...If I knew where that box of rocks even was anymore.

I really hit the gravel today. Either work burned me out, or I'm just not feeling the best? I managed to do diamond, and get the outline for moonstone and sunstone.
Diamond really is as hard as they say. How does one shade a hedron whose primary colors are WHITE... and CLEAR?

Lots of new things to learn in week 2's row it seems. While I could have done a cut red jewel, that would just functionally make it a garnet. Several images came up with these red crystals sticking out of rocks and that felt much more fun to do!

A grid of boxes, most of which are empty. In the first four slots are an amber containing a grasshopper, a ruby that looks like a chunk of beef, a lapis lazuli sparkling with gold and white, and an emerald of murky green in a rough, hexagonal shape.
I did a few more. Finished the ruby and added lapis lazuli and the emerald. I prefer uncut gems (good movie) to cut for this sort of thing because when uncut, their shapes are more dynamic and fun to draw. Though I draw them polished because crystals deserve to glow! #pixelart #CrystalList

Padparadscha!
Which is a pink sapphire. I hadn't heard of it before.
This swan initially was a little too uh...raw-colored so I added patterns I hope look a little like henna.

Day one! I managed to get the amber in. I'm late so I'm going to try to pump the gas on others. The amber contains an ancient grasshopper! I'll continue on the ruby and the actual framing, I got caught up in the amber honestly. #CrystalList #pixelart

Opal!
These are Opali. I had alot of trouble with this one. All the colors on one critter just didn't look right, then my partner recommended a school of fish. This was as small as I could make them, but you can imagine many of them in a large school.

First row completed! I highly recommend looking up Oregon Sunstones, they're truly beautiful explosions of warm color. Today's cut is a kite cut with a more rounded bottom.
