Happy Dragon Age day! I'm *so* grateful for this game & the people who created it. They poured their hearts & souls into it & it has helped me so much over this difficult year. I'm especially grateful for Zach Mendez's performance as Lucanis. Playing through his story has been more cathartic than I ever thought it could be. Helping him through his trauma has helped me start to think about mine. I still have a long way to go, but I will never forget what helped me start that journey. I love all the writers and devs who put so much love into the game, and brought this rich world to life. I maintain that Treviso is easily the most beautiful city in any game I've played. I absolutely adore my Rook, Amelia de Riva. I love the story that she gets to tell, but more than that, I love the creativity it's inspired in me. I haven't felt this creative since I was a child. Now, I'm writing (terrible) fanfics and I'm learning to draw. Thanks to this game. And also thanks to the *incredibly* talented people in this community. I've encountered so many amazing artists and writers, and I've been able to enjoy their art and fics. But more than that, they're so supportive. They encourage and appreciate those who share their love of Dragon Age, and it's such a rare and wonderful thing to see.
I've also loved how incredible the cast are. They not only put their amazing talent into bringing these characters to life and telling their stories, but they also encourage fans to bring them to life in their own ways. Supporting writing and fan art, and generally showing love for the community. Not just that though, They're also incredible allies. I was heartened by what Jeff Berg said on the Q&A this morning about being allies and being able to show representation. It's such a rare thing these days, and to have people who are willing to have our backs, it's a wonderful thing. I've loved all of the characters and performances so much, and I've put some of my favourite screenshots of Lucanis (of course!), Amelia, Viago, Teia, Spite, Davrin, Harding, Bellara, Neve, Taash, Emmrich, Assan, Manfred, Evka, and Antoine underneath this post.

I was going to get the signed Harding print from DA Day stream, but ended up having to use those funds for fun life stuff. Instead, I had enough extra to get myself a Golden Nug from Sanshee during their DA sale today.
Spent a good ten minutes trying to explain nugs to my children.

The one on the left is a piece I made years ago when I was still a beginner at making crocheted dolls. The face is kind of muppet-esque, with very few details, but enough of a likeness to the character to be (imo) unmistakably him. His arms are folded across his chest, and his eyes are looking up from under dark, thick eyebrows. This piece is smaller than the one beside it, and while still detailed, leans more toward cartoonish(?) in a way I struggle to describe. The piece on the right is much larger than the first, with carefully chosen colors throughout the piece, especially on the outfit. The level of detail on it is sort of similar to those on the first, but are more carefully and considerately applied, which results in a more realistic likeness.
