The question of when his feelings all started was something Izuku could never answer straight. When he has spent most of his conscious life with Kacchan in some shape or form, moments spent together just meld into each other and turn into soup. It’s warm, comforting, but sometimes you don’t really know just what the hell is in it. Isn’t that the fun part, though? Like love, it just makes sense as a whole. When he was four, and Kacchan was the picture of competence, Izuku couldn’t help but admire him. It wasn’t love back then, but he vaguely remembered wanting Kacchan to acknowledge him even though he had already been resigned to good-for-nothing Deku. Still, like a moth drawn to a flame, he couldn’t pull away from Kacchan. He burned—literally and figuratively, but there was a nagging compulsion to stick around.
