It's not possible to have a townsquare when a Hard Right owner changes the algorithms daily, not to mention MechaHitler. #DeadTwitter

Precisely correct. I don’t care who you are, if you are still active on #DeadTwitter you are absolutely, positively part of the problem. #idiocracy #traitors

A dark-mode X window shows a full-width banner image of a lone figure standing before a curved wall of floating video and image tiles in a misty, reflective space. Below the banner, large white text proclaims “The most fun image & video creation tool in the world is here. Free for a limited time.” A wide pill-shaped button invites users to “Try Grok Imagine for free.” Beneath that sits a tweet from Elon Musk, whose verified profile icon shows a rocket launch, announcing that Grok Imagine video generation is free to all U.S. users for the next few days and urging readers to download the app. The left sidebar displays the X logo, navigation icons for Home (with a blue notification dot), Explore, Media, Notifications (with a “2” badge), Messages (with a “1” badge), and Bookmarks, with the user’s avatar at the bottom. A round blue compose button floats at lower left, marked by a quill icon. The window’s title bar at top reads simply “X.”

Ok sure it's his platform, but if you open the X Mac app, there's now an enormous banner promoting "Grok Imagine", followed by a tweet from the guy too.

It's like Russian state media but larping as an American social network.

Former X CEO Yaccarino takes helm at GLP-1 focused telehealth firm eMed Linda Yaccarino is taking the top job at eMed Population Health, a telehealth startup focused on GLP-1 weight loss drugs, nearly a month after stepping down as CEO of social media platform X.

After great success working on the health of conversations at X, I'm sure she'll do great with human health!

Same, & I'm always tempted to post it, but then people would be wanting evidence — that Esha compiled about them all over on #DeadTwitter. Her comment threads on corruption were epic.

A context menu over the X app icon on an iPhone home screen offers quick actions in a rounded-rectangle panel with light background blur. The app icon—a black square with a stylized white “X”—appears partially behind the menu. Menu items, each with a corresponding icon on the right, list the following commands from top to bottom: “Search” (magnifying glass), “New post” (quill with a plus sign), “New Message” (envelope with a plus sign), “Ask Grok” (curved arrow icon), “Add to Home Screen” (square with a plus sign), “Share App” (upward arrow emerging from a box), “Require Face ID” (stylized face recognition symbol), and “Delete App” in red text with a trash can icon. Each option is separated by thin dividing lines, and the “Delete App” action is highlighted in red at the bottom of the menu.

X has changed its Quick Actions menu to include "Ask Grok", "New Message", "New post" (sic), and "Search".

A snippet of code displayed in a programming interface, highlighting recent additions. The lines indicate a comment block for "XChat" and a variable assignment, with the text in a light green background to signify new changes. The surrounding lines show other portions of the code, suggesting it is part of a larger codebase. The overall format is clean and structured, typical of coding environments.

"A code diff screenshot from Kaleidoscope showing newly added lines in green. The additions define text constants for a 'Bill Pay' section in an 'Account' details screen. The first constant, `PAYMENTS_ACCOUNT_DETAILS_BILL_PAY_DESCRIPTION`, is set to 'Allow external accounts and services to pull money using your account info.' The second, `PAYMENTS_ACCOUNT_DETAILS_BILL_PAY_TITLE`, is set to 'Bill Pay.' Comments indicate these additions enable preferences for bill payments."

I know X Money is coming, but it's wild to think that people will be paying bills from their Twitter accounts.

X has added Reaper to the libraries that ship in its iOS app.

Curious what it intends to defend itself against.

Over the weekend I've finally killed my personal X/Twitter account. Replaced it with a dormant account I had lying around since 2009. #DeadTwitter

There's now a dedicated Grok button on X threads to summarize the content. NGL, this is pretty slick.
