Neuronal axons in the mammalian central nervous system usually do not regenerate upon injury. The third #gfe2026 keynote, Frank Bradke, reveals key roles for cytoskeletal dynamics, vesicles and scarring in regeneration – a great example of how #devbio has informed treatment for spinal cord injury.
