Scientist on green card detained for a week without explanation, lawyer says A Korean citizen studying in Texas on a green card was detained in San Francisco after a trip overseas. His lawyer says authorities won’t give a reason.

The Washington Post released their story of Will (Tae Heung) Kim, a legal permanent resident who has been trapped in CBP custody at SFO airport for a week. CBP has repeatedly denied Will access to legal counsel:

Judge orders release of Columbia protester Mahmoud Khalil from ICE detention Khalil, a prominent leader in campus protests over the war in Gaza, was the first high-profile noncitizen activist to be detained as part of a crackdown on alleged antisemitism.

Judge Farbiarz: Keeping #MahmoudKhalil detained when he's not a flight risk or a danger to the community is “highly, highly, highly unusual." He has a credible claim that he's being punished for his activism. “And of course that would be unconstitutional.”
