I just wrapped up a trip to Bologna for European Conference on AI where I got to present my poster! This weekend was exactly what I needed - talking to other researchers navigating trust in their work + blue skies + a pasta class! #ecai #phdsky
#ARDUOUS2025 at #ECAI today! Keynote by Stefan Lüdtke on Coping with Label Scarcity in Sensor-based HAR, followed by the best paper presentation by Hoan Tran et al, Towards Practical, Best Practice Video Annotation to support HAR, on development of a silver standard for video annotation.
At #ecai: LLMs reflect their culture (e.g., Chinese LLMs see more autocracy than US ones). #academicsky: while unbiased models are possible, adoption is the issue—people prefer "like-minded" AI. The question: Should the EU mandate models like Mistral to protect our culture?

I had an @IJCAIconf paper rejected despite 3x Weak Accept and 1x Accept. #ECAI track let you give the IJCAI reviews and "what changed" statement. Rebuttal resulted in another 1x WA and 2x Accept, for a total of 4x WA and 3x Accept and now FINALLY it has been accepted! Woof!
Looks like #ECAI is using the reproducibility checklist I made for @RealAAAI 😄 let's see if I get to visit Poland! 🤞
