LLM chunking & snippet extraction: Extract the best content for LLMs - Elasticsearch Labs Exploring chunking and snippet extraction for LLMs, showing how to use `chunk_rescorer` and ES|QL functions to identify the best content for models.

Here, I dive into some of the work we've done on this to date, including support for a chunk rescorer in our semantic reranking retriever, as well as some useful ES|QL primitives to get more visibility into chunks and snippets.

3D printed tokens with ES|QL in AC/DC font style on them

ES⚡QL token POCs

Spent the evening at the Happylab in Vienna practicing 3D printing tokens with my ES|QL logo variant. Was testing manual color changes with the Prusa MK3s . Every POC had flaws, but that’s how you learn. Test early, learn fast. And have fun!

Now that this is out… probably a good time to admit I never much liked QueryDSL (and I work at #Elastic… for now..)

#ESQL is very much welcome and is a multi-year effort in #Elasticsearch. This is NOT just a simple translation layer to QuerDSL.
