Medium-term (100 days) roadworks are due to start soon (9th-17th March) on Restalrig Road, with Phase 4 from Prospect Bank Gardens to Alemoor Park potentially affecting the steps and slope connecting the Restalrig Railway Path.

Still possible to get past the roadworks on Forrest Rd at National Cycle Route 1 & 75. Scottish Water and the council have advised that cyclists are to follow the diversion or dismount. #EdTravCyc

FYI - Water of Leith path is closed (with no signed diversion in advance) at Woodhall for resurfacing the defective newish surface. Assume for this week as wasn’t there on Monday morning?

Also #EdTravCyc there was a big icy puddle at the bottom of the slope from the Restalrig Path down to Leith Links, though this has perhaps thawed by now.

Just reported #ScottishPower contractor for not allowing space for cycles to pass on Whitehouse Loan at the junction with Newbattle Terrace. No diversion signage on Quiet Route & pavement being used by cycles when space could allow for passing on road! 🙄

Burnt out car and molten oil/plastic slurry across Silverknowles Road North down to the beach. Road is closed to motor traffic, so clean-up may be slow. #EdTravCyc
My kiddo took this photo as we biked by so it’s got motion blur. A photo of an Edinburg road with yellow paint and a crater sized pothole next to some steel road plates. Just to jump on the pothole discourse, this mighty one nearly swallowed my cargo bike tyre at Elder St/York - it’s right in the middle of the bike path. It’s gotten a lot bigger this week. Insert joke about AI fixing it, etc etc. But, can we just fix it, Edinburgh Council? 🥺

#EdTravCyc - we’re not sure what’s gone awry here either, but there’s phases to these closures and someone’s mixed the signage up it would seem.
