United Questions A350 Order Amid Rolls-Royce Engine Dispute
Aviation News – United Airlines has cast fresh doubt over its long-delayed Airbus A350 order after revealing a dispute with engine supplier Rolls-Royce, adding new turbulence to one of the industry’s most protracted fleet decisions. The order, first placed in 2009 before United’s merger with Continental Airlines, has been repeatedly revised, deferred and reshaped over the years. Continental historically favored Boeing aircraft, and the combined carrier has since leaned heavily toward Boeing widebodies, leaving the European-built A350’s future uncertain.
