Interesting to see how the trades were advertising the novel Mothers and Daughters by #EvanHunter. Especially as it never made it to the screen in the end.
Has anyone read it? It's 900 pages in it's original edition and it's staring at me from the bookshelf, looking intimidating.

Worth noting as well that Robert McGinnis was OLDER than #EvanHunter / #EdMcBain. Both were born in 1926, but McGinnis had seven months on him, then outlived him by nearly twenty years. What a long and creative life.

Always fun when you get an author profile featured in a magazine - even if the person featured doesn't technically exist!
One of #EdMcBain / #EvanHunter alter egos, Richard Marsten, got a profile in Manhunt in November 1954.
Hunter had the manuscript and treatment sent to Simon & Schuster via his former employer/agent Scott Meredith. #EvanHunter recalls calling the agency whilst killing time out shopping at a bakery. They'd been trying to reach him. S&S were offering a six month deadline and $1500 advance!
Blackboard Jungle began life as a short story called TO BREAK THE WALL, published in the experimental literature magazine Discovery in '53.
Whilst he was looking for something to get publishers Simon & Schuster on the hook with, #EvanHunter revisited this semi-autobiographical story. #booksky
