I have been using the Rewards intervention program with a group of 4th graders since late September. None of them are in the red for reading accuracy any more. Out of six, one scored at benchmark and two above for accuracy. Woohoo! #ExplicitInstruction #ScienceOfReading

The below graphic supports explicit instruction development at the school I work at, Long Bay College in Auckland. Explicit instruction too often confused as just "chalk and talk". The intentional shift from "I do" to "We do" to "You do" key considerations.
