Nov. 1651: William Thornton wrote to Alice's mother about what he could bring to their potential marriage. Alice decided to accept his offer, but wrote "I cannot deny my great unwillingness (contrary to my resolves to continue my single condition)" (Bk3, 42). #EYADecision #EarlyModern ποΈ π
