In July, while not a celebratory event, there was a good turnout of Polos at the 2025 Festival of the Exceptional show, including a 46,000-mile 1979 #Polo GLS imported into the UK mainland in 2011. A stunning piece of Polo history, it was the highlight of the event in these quarters. #VW #FOTU

I'm much more of a car guy than a train guy, but I think this event captured the same sort of feelings you get at car shows like #Rustival and #FOTU, the sense of community.
Definitely worth a watch if you do like a train, and Geoff is a great video maker even if they're not really your bag.
Factoid: Prime #FOTU territory with this VW Derby, which as everyone knows was based on the Mk1 Polo & this one features the economy features of ‘Formel E’ (more about that in a mo’).
This is a facelifted car from 1981.
Btw, one obscure fact on these was the car was 1979 Irish Car of the Year…(1)
Went to a classic car show near my home & this very late (a ‘92, no less) K10 Micra (a minter as they would say) was one of my highlights.
I mean, when did you last see one of these & rather one of these in that condition?

Which is interesting as there were quite a few people at #FOTU who said that they would worry about taking their car to his garage as if that was the way he deals with a throw away comment on micro blogging, how would he deal with an actual complaint about his work....

Pretty sure that is the same as my other half's dad's car we brought back from the south of France.
These two AXs were great at #FOTU, too. The ‘heckblende’ and the rear fairings on the Chicago in particular, and it was the first time the GT had been out in around four years. #Citroen
