Screen shot of text excerpt from THE WALLED CITY:
โI donโt know yet.โ But Dorilian sensed something amiss. Creatures such as these, created and not bred, were surely Mormantaloran in origin. If Erenor had gotten assistance from Nammuor, it would be more than just a few draft beasts to pull his wagons. The threat here was neither the beasts nor the wagon, but what was inside. A Mormantaloran war machine might deploy poisons or magic. But the latter was only possible if Nammuor had also sent along the mages needed to work the magic. Setting crystals and wielding devices required men or women trained in lr technology. Skilled at doing so. Maybe there was a mage in that box. Maybe several. But it made no sense for Nammuor to risk high level mages in a battle with such low stakes. Bynum was nothing to him.
Neither was Erenor.

In THE WALLED CITY (coming in April) magic makes quite a few appearances... such as in the scene following this snippet. War is in the wind, and so is sorcery. They will soon be facing Nammuor, after all. #epicfantasy #fantasymagic
