Catching up on this thread looking for data supporting SGLTi #flozin in patients with hba1c>85. My institution advises against. UKKA guidelines say need endo consent. But given frequency of CV events vs rarity of DKA, surely net benefit must favour #flozin. Do you know of any data on this?

Why are guideline ppl addicted to sulfunylureas/nsulin/metformin ?
Those are useful to lower A1c from stratospheric levels, but if we are thinking hard outcomes improvement, the answer is #flozin & #glp1

This is addressed in the @nephjc.bsky.social summary in highlighting that the study period (Jan. 2010 - Apr. 2019) was before the #flozin & #glipinate era, but some regions might still not have access to these new meds.
Only 0.4% were flozinated & only 4% were glipinated, #nephjc🤓😀
