Gay Lea Coconut Whipped Topping. Bought it at Real Canadian Superstore.

Gay Lea Coconut Whipped Topping. Bought it at Real Canadian Superstore.

Recommended! Had this with waffles.

Also made some sliced apples stewed with coconut oil, sugar, and lemon zest that I’m really happy how it turned out.

The apples were elderly and really they were delightful. Glad Rachael said “applesauce is boring”.

A white wine by margins and a dark red Pamplemousse Jus at home on the table

A white wine by margins and a dark red Pamplemousse Jus at home on the table

We walked home from there which was about enough for me 🙂

Here are the two bottles of wine I got:

Margins Muscat Blanc 2020 (Vivino)

Pampelmousse Jus Sumac Piquette 2023

I’ll save them for Christmas drinking with the parents.

Having dried lime leaves is key if you want to cook Thai dishes.

Spruce Eats has a good overview page:

> Makrut lime leaves are the Asian equivalent to bay leaves.

> The flavor is bright, fresh, distinctly citrus, with more lime than lemon but without the same sharpness of the Western fruits.

Turns out there’s a Lee’s Donuts in Gastown now!

Took over the old Starbucks RIGHT next to the #Steamclock! They are going to make a fortune!

Quiet Sunday, working on my #FoodWiki by making an index of the latest Cook’s Illustrated.

This gets me researching, like learning about black vinegar, this is Heng Shun Zhenjiang-style from my pantry. foodwiki.bmann.ca/January%252029th%252C%25...

I’m really happy with how tonight’s dinner turned out: my own Lingcod in Coconut Broth with Flat Noodles.

It’s fun for me to read it cover to cover, and create a #FoodWiki table of contents for the articles and recipes so I can search it and use it for inspiration https://foodwiki.bmann.ca/Cook's%2520Illus ... blog.bmannconsulting.com/2022/12/17/its-fun-for.h...

Cook’s Illustrated is one of the few pieces of paper-based reading I do. The back cover illustrations are a great excuse to learn about one topic, in this case #Tsukemono, Japanese pickles. This gets me a great index in my #FoodWiki to explore ... https://t.co/ATUEuEaIdy
