At Proud Sky Blues, our mission is incredibly simple: to ensure that everyone feels they can support Coventry City FC without fear of abuse or discrimination.
Sadly, recent events on social media show that this is not the reality we live in, with homophobic attitudes and slurs being shared among some members of CCFC fanbase this week.
We strongly condemn all forms of homophobia, both online and offline. There is no place for hate in football, and no fan should feel unsafe or unwelcome while supporting the Sky Blues. Football is for everyone, and we will continue to work tirelessly towards a future where all fans can feel proud to be part of this community.
Additionally, we want to address rumours suggesting that our group receives special treatment from the club, such as priority access to away tickets simply because we represent LGBTQ+ fans. This is categorically false.
We are proud to be an officially recognised supporters group, just like others who represent fans in Nuneaton & Bedworth, Leamington & Warwick, Rugby, London, and so on. Like these groups, we have worked hard to raise funds in order to pay sponsorship money to the club to access the away ticket scheme. We do not receive priority tickets based on being a minority group, as that would go against the principles of equal treatment that we stand for.
We believe in fairness, equality, and creating a supportive fanbase for everyone. If you share these values, we encourage you to stand with us against discrimination and help make football a space where everyone feels they belong.
