In the past, education was entrusted to the church, which imposed its truth, which it claimed came from God, and which tolerated only one type of behavior and thinking. Teaching posts are left open to anyone willing to accept poor working conditions and little regard for student performance. Sick teachers are not replaced. There are too many pupils per class.
