#Fripp actually gets it wrong. The #Mellotron does not - as you rightly say - sound like the actual instruments it is emulating, but it is nothing to do with the mechanism. If you took a piece of tape and recorded a CD on it, it would play back in a Mellotron it would retain the original quality.

A relatively deep #RobertPalmer cut from a weird 1982 half live, half studio album which has him working with #GaryNuman, members of #TalkingHeads (he’d played on “Remain In Light”), and #AdrianBelew. The latter is on this, adding some #Fripp -esque guitar to the itchy, new wave, electro pop vibes.
