Aargh!
Foot and leg cramping like fuck over the last few days. Do any fellow MSers have any helpful hints on how to deal with it? I've done stretches, massages, magnesium gel, tiger balm, magnesium glycine capsules,baclofen... I'm walking around my bedroom at 3am to calm it down. Help! #fuckms 🧡

An adaptive skier. They’re seated over a monoski with two crutches with mini skis on the end. Looks a bit mad, but it it takes failing legs out of the equation then it could be a game changer. I bet you wear your normal shoes too.
I might try adaptive skiing next time (seated skiing). There’s a school that specialises in that in Zell and apparently #MultipleSclerosis is one of the conditions they see quite often. I love the mountains, and this might help prolong my enjoyment of them in winter.

Fatigue also sets in quickly and unpredictably. I don’t want to be stuck on a slope I can’t ski down.
The weather and the Gluhwein have been excellent and I’ve got schnitzel and strudel booked in for tomorrow evening. It could very much be worse.

I'm weaning myself of Amitriptyline and it is playing havoc with my sleep patterns. I'm so cross with my health team - Pregablin made me put on weight so they put me on Amitriptyline. Seven pounds gained in 4 months! I should have researched more but I was so fed up with pain and cramps #fuckms 🧡

A trailing cable under my work desk got wrapped around my ankle, I stood up and went flying. Ankle and knee throbbing, leg cramping and spasming. Currently sulking with frozen peas on my ankle! #fuckms 🧡 and #fuckcables
It’s a lanky guy wearing a blue MS Trust vest and a blue tutu. He’s raising a finger in the air and has Buckingham Palace behind him as he enters the last mile or so of the London Marathon in 2016. My left leg is heavily strapped to keep my shitty ankle working for as long as possible.
A lanky guy with a big goofy grin wearing sunglasses and a Rushcliffe Athletic Club vest. He’s bathed in a lovely warm evening sunshine glow and is running around Holmepierrepont Lake as part of a summer league club running event.
Bald, lanky guy wearing an RAC club vest and powering up a muddy hill at a cross country race. This was a two lap course, and literally half the course was shin deep in cheesy, stagnant water. I loved it!
About 22 miles into the Liverpool Marathon in (I think) Sefton Park. I’m running with my wife and we both have our arms spread out wide and we look deliriously happy. We’re both wearing blue MS Trust vests and blue tutus. My knee and leg are very heavily strapped. For some reason, between April 2018 and April 2019, I ran four full marathons and raised about £40,000 for the MS Trust. I was even featured in the Daily Mirror, but less I felt special, the runner profiled underneath me was running without kidneys. The bloody show off.
MS has taken a lot from me, but it can’t take away these memories.

I used to run marathons and now find running incredibly difficult. I do still run (after a fashion), and I row and swim and things. I’m pretty active, and I try to look forwards and to be positive…. But sometimes it’s hard.
