Vintage Lego Pirates. Now *that* would be a nice hobby to pursue. Along with #Mtron and #Futuron. I love the idea of running a monorail around the living room of the flat.

The trucks smoke stack comes off behind the cab... and the spaceman is unfolding it?
A small flying craft is revealed, complete with wings, controls, and tail rockets.
Now they can fly around the truck and check the route ahead on the unpredictable surface of whatever planet the truck is traveling on.
It wouldn't really be a #Futuron truck if it didnt have some kind of small flying vehicle tucked away onboard. I needed to put the flyer onboard and decided not to trailer it, so I stowed it where it could look like part of the truck design. It unfolds and turns into a unique, yet bog standard flyer

Front cargo only removed to open the cab. A Yellow Futuron Spaceman is the driver.
The two 1x8 tiles swing out to make minifigure removal easier... no, this design choice was not intended, it's just a consequential benefit of how everything was built. For getting the minifigure out it's unexpectedly useful.
Black and white photo of the Strick Cab Under full cab (there's also a half cab) prototype. With a truck driver standing chest and head height over the cab-under the cargo trailer to give a sense of how low profile this design was.
The #Futuron Strick truck can offload it's cargo with a magnet crane, if only I had built one. The Spaceman can get out of the truck via the top hinge plate, which is structurally loadbearing for the loosely attached cab and cargo. The #Lego build is as experimental with 80's pieces as the truck.

A low profile space truck that carries 4 cargo containers. The cab is underneath one of the cargo loads. The color is white and black with black wheels and chassis, and a white body for the cab. Windows are dark blue and lights are red and yellow. The containers are classic space blue/grey 6990 recolor, Futuron 6990 Monorail x2, and Space Police Blue and Black modified container design of 6990. Each container has a magnet to make it interactive in case I make another Moc to pair with this.
The main cockpit is low profile and wedgeshaped like a Lotus sports car, but with a truck like grille and lights. Due to how minfigures are shaped, despite going low profile, the vehicle is still pretty tall, I compensated by making it six wide instead of four wide to keep it looking sleek. The chassis is articulated to bend betweent the cockpit and mid/mid and rear using the classic space era 2x4 paired hinge plates.
A rear view of the trailer as the truck drives away. The mid section of the truck has fuel tanks underneath the cargo with a transparent yellow pair of fuel lines running forward to the cab.
Yes, the minifigure can fit inside the slight wedge cabin.

#Futuron Strick Corporation Cab Under... the future of trucking is (not) this. I was on youtube and learned about a failed concept truck a few days ago, and it was just what I needed for a builders prompt.
