A picture in the Midhurst and Petworth Observer - it is a naive drawing of a man in an orange coat and a hat with long hair and a beaming smile, stood on a hemispherical hill. He has his hands in the air. There is either a giant sun above him or James is about to land the Giant Peach on his foot .The caption reads 'Illustration of George Fox, founder of the Quakers.
A 17th century (possibly contemporary) portrait of George Fox. It so a black and white photo of an oil painting and the paint surface is cracked. George Fox has shoulder length fair hair, a Roman nose and dark, serious eyes. He has quite an intense expression, but then he was quite an intense person.
The likeness is uncanny! #GeorgeFox #Quakers
