This photo was taken by my S.O. at Wheaton Arts in Millville, NJ. They were in the beginning stages of creating a cornucopia in glass. This slug of glass was so heavy, it took a couple of workers to move it back and forth into the furnace and at one point, they almost lost it before saving it from contacting the floor at the last minute. It was truly amazing to watch the whole process. There were other teams working on all the little fruits to put into the mouth of the cornucopia, which made it increasingly heavy with each fruit applied.
Working with molten glass is definitely #warm work! #BlueSkyArtShow #glassworking #WheatonArts More about this process in ALT.
