With its glossy, golden-orange caps, the velvet shank is quite commonly seen growing in clusters on stumps of decaying hard wood. It is also known as the 'Winter Mushroom' as it is one of the few mushrooms that can be seen throughout the winter months, right into early spring. Hanging up bird feeders on our plum tree
Jayne our session lead and Thea our Wassail Queen bless the tree with apple juice. The queen/king is chosen using a bean placed randomly in a slice of fruit cake that was shared.

A water feature comprising of two garden water pumps used in different ways. The smaller mini pump was installed in a sink plunger base and a tube threaded with multi coloured party glasses, the water rises through the middle and cascades down the lips of the bubbly vessels. The other pump is mounted i to a floating base and a model of the water nymph rimon, a local legend. she lights up and spouts water from a headgear.

According to wikipedia: Kniphofia is a genus of perennial flowering plants in the family Asphodelaceae, first described as a genus in 1794.All species of Kniphofia are native to Africa. people gathered for a springtime community event there are two gazebo tents with different activities happening in each one has Willowcraft and a mud kitchen for younger children. The other tent has a bicycle powered sound system and open mic space plus at the end is a place where you start a nature trail… when you complete the trail, you can take home a book from the book library. it is a very sunny day and the people came and had a great time . thanks to all for a lovely day.
