And then there’s the kind who worship the grind, claiming hard work will set you free When all that that does, is make mills for your boss, while you make $10.63 Late-stage capitalism is rife, and nobody but us seems to care That coal, oil and water, their reasons for slaughter, mean more than breathable air. It’s too hot for crops, they wither and die, fungal disease kills off the rest Yet nobody cares, until suddenly they’re paying more for the coffee they press. Chocolate’s gone up! They shriek and complain, a symptom of the changing weather Until suddenly, staples bread, milk and cheese disappear off shelves altogether.
