Where books were my friends
And liked me for who I am
Never judging me, but giving me comfort and joy
More than any digital toy
To this day I think of the library as my best friend
A loving relationship that will never end!

When I had pigtails and glasses
I was indeed one of those lasses

Who called her local library home
No matter how far I did roam

I’d sneak into the corner, a book in my hand
Reading and reading as quiet as a lamb...
