#IPV in #2020 did not just go up, the severity of the violence did as well. More broken bones, more stangulations. A #gunban does not prevent #IPV Having harsher penalties for repeat offenders including more invasive home searches and longer probabtion periods would be good.

I'd like to add some context as well. The #gunban came in response to the #NovaScotia Gunman in #2020 This man was known to police and had a history of #domesticviolence now refeered to as #IntumatePartnerViolence (IPV) He managed to acquire 5 guns illegally and even had a decomissioned police car.

When someone takes a life, it is a criminal or psychiatric issue.
