... Damn I just realized that had my husband not left his job over a year ago, he'd be losing his union bargaining rights too... because he was a state employee.
Sadly his co-workers at his new job, some have wives who are teachers. 😔

HB 267 has passed the Utah Senate. This bill ends collective bargaining for the public sector. This includes teachers, firefighters, policemen, and government officials. This means these groups cannot get support from a labor organization or a representative. This means no support in bargaining. This bill makes it harder for these voices to be heard. Kirk Cullimore and Jordan Teuscher were the ones pushing this bill. 19 Republicans and all House Democrats voted against it. I don't currently know the names of the Republicans, but they are ones to look into supporting. Those that voted for the bill don't have the best interest of those that serve the community. I will keep an eye out for any bills put out to counter HB 267 and I will give my full support to that when it comes.

We went to the #Capitol today to stand against UT #HB267. Eleven Dispatchers, and none of us were heard by the committee because we the public overflowed 3 rooms and into the halls. Unfortunately, the Senate committee moved it on with a vote of 4-3. On to the floor. Please call your Senators! #utleg
